Connectors
Outlook
Let an AI employee search, read and work with your Outlook email.
With Outlook connected, an AI employee can search and read your email, folders and attachments. It can also propose changes: send, reply, forward, write drafts, move, flag and delete email. It works only in your own mailbox.
Connect Outlook
- Open Connectors in the sidebar. Under Available, on the Outlook card, choose Connect.
- Choose Continue to authorization. In the new window, sign in with your own Microsoft account and review the requested permissions.
- When the card shows Connected under Your connections, turn on Read and use my email and choose Turn on.
Only company owners and administrators can connect accounts. If the card says your organisation needs to approve WorkPier first, ask your IT admin to approve it once for everyone, then connect again.
Read and use my email
This switch is off by default. While it is off, AI employees can't read or change anything in your mailbox. While it is on and you mention @Outlook, they can search, read and quote your email and its attachments. Anyone who can see that task sees what was read and quoted, and turning the switch off later does not remove what is already in tasks.
Use Outlook in a task
- In the box on Home or in a task's reply box, type @ and choose Outlook under Services.
- Describe what you want done and send. The AI employee searches and reads your email straight away.
- When a change shows a card in the task, check what it lists, then choose Confirm or Cancel.
Deleting moves email to Deleted Items in Outlook, and you can move it back from there. AI employees can't delete email for good.
Permissions
On the Outlook card, choose Permissions to switch off what AI employees may do: Read email, Draft and organise, Send email and Delete email. These apply only while Read and use my email is on. See Connectors for how the switches work.
With Auto mode on, low-risk changes that match your request run without asking. Deletes, sharing and messages to others always ask.
