Connectors

Connectors

Connect your own accounts so AI employees can read them and make changes in them.

A connector links WorkPier to one of your own accounts, such as Google Drive or Gmail. AI employees then use it on your behalf. Open Connectors in the sidebar: Available lists the services you can connect, and Your connections lists the accounts you have connected.

Connect an account

  1. Open Connectors in the sidebar and choose Connect on the service under Available.
  2. Read the dialog, then choose Continue to authorization. The service opens in a new window.
  3. Sign in with your own account and review the requested permissions.
  4. Back in WorkPier, the account shows under Your connections as Connected.

Only company owners and administrators can connect accounts. If the card says Needs re-authorization, choose Authorize again.

Choose what AI employees may do

  1. On your connection's card, choose Permissions.
  2. Turn each switch on or off. Each choice saves as soon as you flip it.
  3. Choose Done.

This only changes WorkPier; your connection stays the same. For Outlook, these apply only while "Read and use my email" is on. For Slack, direct messages also need "Read my direct messages".

Reads and changes

To use a connected service in a task, type @ in the box and choose it under Services. When an AI employee reads or searches a connected service, it does so straight away. A change, such as sending, editing, deleting or sharing, shows as a card in the task, for example "Make these changes in Google Drive?" Unless Auto mode is on, nothing happens until you choose Confirm. Then each change is made as you, exactly as shown. Choose Cancel and nothing is changed.

If a permission is switched off, the card tells you. Turn it on in Connectors, then confirm again. In the chat box, Auto mode means low-risk changes that match your request run without asking. Deletes, sharing and messages to others always ask.

Disconnect an account

  1. On your connection's card, choose Disconnect.
  2. Read the dialog and choose Disconnect. WorkPier stops using the account at once, and you stay signed in to WorkPier.

The dialog also tells you whether WorkPier withdraws its access at the service, or whether you remove WorkPier yourself in that service's account settings.
